This little lady is as sweet as can be. Mommy brought so many cute head pieces, hats, petti skirts for her session, that were was something cute for every set/prop we used. I think Mommy and Grandma are enjoying their baby girl! When it came time to make this post, it was hard to pick out my favorites. But I think the pictures with the owl hat are pretty cute. I don’t think there could be a grandmother more proud of her granddaughter than Amelia’s grandma. Congratulations, mommy and daddy.

Nothing beats photographing outside on a beautiful summer day, except maybe a mild winter afternoon. Why?  It is a well-known fact that the sunlight is much softer and more flattering in the winter months and winter accessories are a lot of fun.  When we first talked about her session, Angela requested a more vintage/urban location, something downtown with old brick and turn of the century architecture.  Now that we are located in Tacoma’s Theater District, it’s even easier and faster to include both studio time and downtown looks.

I first photographed this little girl when she was only 9 months old. I took her family portrait at Point Defiance Park on a beautiful spring day. Later I had the pleasure of taking her first year birthday pictures. She was one of the first birthday sessions we did with a birthday cake.  Now, in a blink of an eye, she’s all grown up and in school. Time goes by so fast. But, she still has that same cute smile and sparkle in her eye. I had a lot of fun taking these in our new loft studio space. I think the portraits of her with the hat are my favorite, but the ones of her jumping on the bed always make me laugh.

We recently moved into a loft-style studio space in downtown Tacoma’s Theater District. I’m having a lot of fun photographing here, especially with Seniors. Qua Shaya was one of my first seniors in the new space.  She has a really great smile, and we had a good time trying out some of the new furniture props. Here are a few of my favorites from her session. Congratulations on your senior year!

It’s easy to tell twins Dana and Madison are excited for their Senior year. To kick it off, they came in for Senior portraits. They particularly liked the look of black and white, so I put a lot of focus there during the studio time. Then we visited one of the parks on the Tacoma waterfront. I miss the sunshine already.  Congratulations, Dana and Madison. Hope you have a lot of fun this year.

As much as I want babies to sleep during the newborn session, it’s hard to resist the pictures of them awake. Their expressions can be so sweet and precious. Much like the Lily I photographed earlier, this little Lily was awake for much of her session as well. But we still had fun.  Here are a few of my favorites from her session.

To coincide with Addison’s one year birthday portraits, mommy scheduled a family portrait. We’ve been really fortunate to have a long stretch of dry weather this summer, so it’s no surprise we’ve actually done more outdoor family portraits this summer than in previous years. For Addison’s family portrait, we slipped over to local DeCoursey Park.  They had a real problem with flooding late this spring, but the water is back down now and things are looking back to normal. Here are a couple favorites of mine from their session.

Ashley and her husband are living the classic romance, I think.  She’s a nurse and he’s a pilot in the military, and very much in love! And very excited about their little girl. Both great people, they were a lot of fun to work with. Here are a few of my favorite images from their session.

I had so much fun working with Kristina and Tristan again. I had the chance to photograph their wedding a couple years ago and now they’re having their first child! I’m so excited for them. Kristina wanted to do her session maternity session outside, so we went to a local park. I think the portraits really turned out beautiful. Congratulations, Kristina & Tristan!

What a senior year for Chris. After going to the state championship throughout his high school football career, this year the team won the title. That’s the way to leave high school, with a championship ring. After graduation, he’s heading over to WSU. Congratulations, Chris!
